Graduation Time

Yesterday was my nephew Bryan's high school graduation. It is hard to believe that he is now an adult. This isn't the card I will be sending him. I don't want him to see it yet and I am waiting until it is closer to his party to send the card.

I sent this card to Scott, another nephew who graduated from elementary school. The front was embossed and then sponged to look like a tree with a hole in it. When he opens the card he will see what was peeking out of the hole. I saw a card on splitcoast that was similar by Diane Cramer and I adapted it to the supplies that I have.

Happy Birthday Judy

Today is my SIL's birthday, but she will never see this card on the blog. She does not touch a computer. This card is suppose to give you the impression of standing outside of a bakery shop and looking into the window. The top where the greeting is attached is the awning.

Happy Mother's Day

I don't make mother's day cards, so the closest I can come to appropriate cards are baby cards, which I have made quite a few of the past two or so years. Happy Mother's Day to all our friends, sisters, SILs, aunts, and nieces. I think that covers everyone.

The past few years, I have not liked mother's day since both of our moms are gone. I don't even go to card class in April because I know that is what they will be making. Thursday my community band had a mother's day concert and wanted me to read a mother's day poem. I said no I could not do that, so some other people read instead. One of the ladies said, even if your mom is not with you, it is not a day to be sad, but a day to remember all the good times you had with your mom. I am going to try to do that.

May Birthdays

The birthstone for May is the emerald and we have no emeralds to show you. We do have several May birthdays. If I miss anyone, I will need to add them after I check my calendar. So from memory May birthdays are; Sue's brother and Jim's sister and two of Jim's nieces, one of his nephews, and the son of a good friend of ours. The nieces were born on the same day and the same date as Sue's brother.
