Napkin Cards

A few posts ago, I promised some more cards made using a napkin.  I got distracted with other things but I am back on track.  The next three card posts will be napkin cards.  They are so fun and quick to make.  Use the napkin technique and add some embellishments and a greeting.....DONE.

Lemons and Sweet Tea Napkin Card

I grew up drinking sweet tea.  In about 10th grade I decided I wanted to lose weight so I started drinking my iced tea sweetened with whatever the artificial sweetner of the time was.  Now I drink unsweet tea unless I am at a BBQ place and then I cheat and mix in some sweet tea.  What is your favorite soft drink?

Christmas in July

I haven't taken advantage of the expression Christmas in July for any of my July posts.  Since the month is almost over, it is time that I do something.  I had a stamp that was this moon Santa and Jim used it for inspiration in this piece which is ornament sized.
I wasn't ready, meaning I didn't have much new stuff, for a Christmas in July card class.  Instead I am going to have Christmas in August card class.  If you would like to attend one of my card classes, leave me a comment and I will get back to you.

Rose Bud

This is a small dainty piece.  If you look carefully, you will see different textures.  The outside is called confetti glass because of all the little pieces inside it.  The next layer has sort of a star texture and then the rose.  My dad had a rose garden so I am partial to roses although I don't grow them.

July Birthday Cat

This is another crazy cat card that will go to one of the sisters.  A few months ago I told you they all have cats so this was the perfect theme for this year's birthday cards.

Mom's Lamp

I am not sure what to call this.  The three dangles in the center are from a lamp that used to hang in the dining room in the house I grew up in.  My dad bought it for my mom one year for Christmas.  I know that sounds like one of those bad gifts, but she loved it.  She had been admiring it in a furniture store window for a long time.  My dad surprised her with it. When my mom sold the house, she replaced it with something more modern and gave the lamp to Jim to use on his glass pieces.  So that is how I came up with the title of this post.

Napkin Cards, The Shells

The next few cards are going to be made using napkins and freezer paper.  Have I posted any of these before?  I can't remember but if I did, I don't think I posted this one.  Are you wondering how I made it?  If anyone is interested in learning how to make them let me know and I will post a free tutorial.  Just leave me a comment if you want the tutorial.

The Dragon Whose Name is Not Peter

We have had several people asking if we can make a dragon.  So here is his first attempt.  Maybe with the new Pete movie coming out we will get someone that really wants one.  I think his face may be a little small.  What do you think?

July 4

Happy 4th of July.  I promised I would tell you what instrument I play today.  Well, I play two different instruments.  On Wednesday night, I play clarinet in the Tampa Community Band.  Thursday nights, I play bass clarinet with the East Hillsborough Community Band.

I bought this stamp at a stamp festival I attended earlier this year.  The treble clef is embossed in gold.  The music notes were left from what I punched out of the other music cards I posted earlier this month.
