Hummingbird

I know it has been awhile since I posted anything.  Craft show season ends for us after Christmas and I only post on Facebook during non-showtimes.  Our first show will probably be in October so I will be back sometime in the fall.  In the meantime here is one new piece for you to see.  It will be going to our first fall show.

Are There Green Flowers?

I really like this piece.  Yes, the flowers are a mint green so maybe some don't think it is realistic.  But it is such a pretty shade of green and looks so good with all the clear glass. If you look closer, you will see that the clear glass actually has texture and there are two types of texture.

Rain Girl

It has been a year since I posted on our blog.  We are still making glass and paper and doing shows.  I still post, but it is so much easier to use Facebook so that is where I post.  Look for my posts under Kilroy Krafts on Facebook.  But since I am here, I will show you one of his newest panels.

It’s a chilly, rainy day here so I decided this umbrella girl would be a good post for today. She will be coming with us to #gainesvilleflorida Thanksgiving weekend. We will be displaying Jim’s stained glass at the #oconnellcenter. If you will be in #gainesville this Saturday or Sunday, stop by to see us.

Community Band Festival

We don't have a show this weekend because I am participating in a community band festival.  I play bass clarinet in The Eastern Hillsborough Band.  Our next show is at St Timothy Church in Lutz.

The Weeping Angel Sisters

This is the sister of the angel in the last post.  The sister angels will be coming to Cedar Key Seafood Festival with us next weekend.

The Weeping Angel Sisters

I will be featuring some angels that I like the next few days. These haven’t been to a show yet since they were made for last year’s season which was canceled. They will be making a debut October 16 and 17 at the Cedar Key Festival. I will post her "sister" in the next few days.

Sun and Moon

I love all the pictures and jewelry I see that are a combinations of the sun and moon.  Of course I like all of the stained glass I see made up with them also.  I finally convinced Jim to make one.

Same Card Different Themes

This is an example of how two cards can look so different even though the designer paper is the same. The dragon wasn’t planned. I colored it and put it aside. A few days later I was cleaning off my work space and saw the paper. I put the dragon on top of it and decided it worked.

Expressions in Ink

This past week while deciding what to make for card class, I made a lot of cards using some of the Expressions in Ink suite by Stampin’ Up! Here is a sampling of some I made.

This designer paper is absolutely beautiful with lots of gold accents.

Cedar Key Seafood Festival

I just sent in our application for the Cedar Key Seafood Festival.  Unless something comes up that interests us it will be our first show of the fall season.  Looking forward to it since it was canceled last year due to the pandemic.

This is one of the cards that my card group made at our June card class.  It is so easy to make yet really makes a big impression.  The shells are made using paper that has a pearlized finish.

Dragon Panel

It looks like maybe we are going to have some craft shows to attend this year.  We don't have any scheduled yet but at least we are getting notices that places are in the planning stage.  So I guess it is time for us to get working again.  I will be posting more often as we make new things.

Kumquat Festival

I planned to make cups with hand sanitizer this past craft season. In fact I began making them in the later part of 2019 before it became a necessity. The 2020 season would have been a perfect time to sell them, but unfortunately we didn’t do any shows because of Covid. The Kumquat Festival was moved to this month and we are participating. I just had to change my design for the sanitizer. Here is what I made for teacher gifts. I will have them at the Kumquat Festival, March 27 in Dade City.

Hair Curlers

I can remember curling my hair with rollers. The type varied as the years passed until a curling iron took over. Now my favorite hair item is shown with the card. #buylocaltampabay

Curly Hair

You really need to zoom in on the hair to see the detail. If you would have seen me coloring her, you would have thought I was making a huge mess. The first step is to color all the hair orange. The darker colors are put on by making dots on top of the orange leaving some of the orange showing. This was my first attempt and I think it turned out decent.

Christmas Poinsettias

Here are a few Christmas cards I made using the velour designer paper from Stampin' Up.  I will have a few more to post before Christmas arrives.

Sending Flowers

I bought this die from a friend back in July and couldn’t find it when I went to use it. While moving furniture to put up the tree, I found it. Which one is your favorite? Look carefully to see the pearls and rhinestones.

Sings the Blues

This  panel is larger than the other music panels that Jim has made. It makes me think of The Blues and the movie Lady Sings the Blues.

Sunflower Wreath

One of the things my friends and I like to do is borrow Stampin' Up items from each other. I borrowed the dies needed to make this card from my friend Julie. I’ll be showing other cards I made from it this week.

Leaves

This time of the year in most parts of the country the leaves are starting to change color.  Shortly, they will be falling off the trees and will be raked into piles to be trashed or recycled as mulch.  Where we live, the leaves are still green and will not fall until the spring.  For the next few posts, I will be featuring leaves.

Pineapples

The format for posting has changed since the last time I posted.  Because of that, I have no idea how this post will look when I am finished with it.  Hopefully if it looks bad, and it probably will, I will be able to make adjustments.
We have planted several pineapple plants using the tops of pineapples  that we have eaten. No fruit yet because they haven’t been planted long enough. Maybe we will have one next year. Here we each made a pineapple one in glass and one in paper. #buylocaltampabay
