Maggy the Cat

One of our sisters had a birthday this month and this is the card we  sent her.  She does have a crazy cat Maggie  so this is a perfect card for her.  Maggie  would be ready to attack anything on the floor.  The main difference is that Maggie  wouldn't wait long to attack the box. The hat would be shredded.

Birthday Flowers

I love these bright colors against the black background.  The colors really pop.  I have more cards made using this die but I think I am going to switch to something else for awhile and come back to them.  I imagine you are getting tired of seeing this flower.

Tulips in Glass

Just one more glass bouquet quilt piece before I return to posting more cards using the Botanical Blooms dies.  Living where I do, I don't plant tulips or any of those spring type bulb flowers.  That just don't grow here.  People say you can but it takes a lot of work and patience that I don't want to be bothered doing.  The bulbs have to be pulled out after they bloom and placed in the refrigerator and replanted.

Potted Plant Glass

One time a woman came into our booth and told us a lot of our work looked like some of her quilt patterns.  She hadn't seen these bouquets yet that I have been featuring.  I showed them to her and asked her if they were a quilt pattern also.  She loved them and said yes they were.

The Drapery Fold

So now I am trying another new spot to take pictures.  This one I took in the laundry room.  I put it on top of the washer which is why the background is shiny.  There still is a shadow but at least it is not on the card.  I love this technique which is called the drapery fold.  Leave me a comment if you would like directions on how to make it.

Bouquet

I know I promised more Botanical Gardens cards.  Don't worry, they will be coming.  This is the time of year that we apply for craft shows and use the blog as part of our application process.  Since the majority of our booth is glass, I need to mix in some of Jim's work too.

I love the next few pieces of his that I will be posting.  They are all based on quilt patterns and are flowers.  So mixed in with my flower cards you will be seeing more of these bouquets.

Jim is working on a website too.  There is a link to his site on the right side of my blog.  It is still under construction, but go have a quick look.  Scroll down to see the link.

Botanical Gardens

The next die set I am going to use for a few posts is Botanical Gardens.  I love these flowers and the dies did get carried over to the new Stampin Up catalog.  I used the color pool party on these flowers and they came out darker than what they are IRL.  I have needed so many sympathy cards the past few weeks.  So many moms are dying.

The Sun, Clouds, and a Plane

This picture is so bad.  Like I explained earlier, I don't like my new photo location.  I may get this one out of the files and take the picture again.  It really is a nice card but this big shadow covers it.  I didn't include rain in the title of the post, but I should have.  The design on the paper looks like rain drops to me.

Happy Mother's Day

This is one last piece that Jim copied from the glass our friend's father made.  The reason we were at her house was her mom recently passed.  I know this is going to be a hard mother's day for Lynne but she knows her mom is at peace.

Lynne's Dad

When Lynne's dad died, lots of years ago, she gave Jim his grinder and what ever other glass and tools he had.  This piece is based on one she has in her house that her dad made.  His is in an oval frame instead of a circle.  Jim didn't want to copy it exactly so her change the outside ring and picked slightly different colors.

Sunshine to Others

I used my phone to take about 10 pictures of cards.  I also changed the way I took them.  It is a big fail.  The pink is just to cover up the background, not part of the card.  I don't like it.  I could not avoid getting a shadow no matter where I stood.  So a few posts for awhile are not going to be the best but I am too lazy to take new pictures since I have already filed these away.
