Musical Birthday Wishes

As usual I get on these themes when I make cards.  I was into my music theme this past week.  I punched the bird using one of my SU punches.  I hope he is singing in tune.

Recycled Paper

I made these flowers using some pretty tissue paper I received in a gift.  You would think I didn't have any paper the way I save any type that I get.  This matched Stampin Up! melon mambo almost exactly so I had to use it.

Get Out the Boots

We have had so much rain already that we sure don't need a tropical storm.  I hate to say rain, rain, go away because I know so many places need the rain right now.  I wish we could send the water to them.

Go Away Issac

So tropical storm Issac is headed our way.  We are in the wait and see stage right now waiting to see exactly where he is going.  I don't think there is any way he is going to miss us.  Hoping it isn't too bad of a storm.

The Nurse and Doctor

One of my young friends recently graduated with a degree in nursing.  Her mom gave her this nurse card that I made.  I made a doctor card too just in case someone needs a doc.

So I have a question?  Does anyone really look at my blog.  I know my friend Anna does but when I check my stats, most days the only visitors I have are from Russia and I am sure none of them care about my cards.

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was our best friends anniversary.  We went out to dinner with them and then back to their house for games and dessert.  Did I remember to bring them a card?  NO.  As we were driving to the restaurant I remembered but we were not going back.  Turns out one of my Stampin Up! buddies anniversary was yesterday too.

Thinking of Fall

I am thinking of fall for two reasons.  One is that it is so hot and humid that I am ready for some cooler weather.  But the second reason is that I have to make cards ahead of the seasons to keep ahead.  This punch art I saw on  Lee Ann Greff's blog many years ago and just made it now.  The hair is some jute split apart that I have had around here since macrame was an in craft to make.

Christmas Ice Cream

When I was young I remember my parents getting me some Christmas ice cream that was only available in December.  I think it was called Kris Kringle and made by Sealtest.  It wasn't peppermint though because I don't like peppermint flavor for the most part, although if it is Thin Mints that is a different story.  I think the ice cream was butter brickle or like a Heath bar kind of taste but it wasn't chocolate.
What this has to do with the card is the DSP is one of the Christmas papers in the new Stampin Up! catalog.  I love to get paper that can be used for several occasions.

Serene Sunflower

This is one of the first Stampin Up! sets that I bought quite a few years ago.  It retired a few years ago but it is one of my favorite sets since I love daises and sunflowers.  This is a new technique for me that I recently saw as a technique challenge on Splitcoast.

Awash with Flowers

The two top sets were made with a set called Awash with Flowers.  I got the idea for them from a Stampin Up publication that I receive monthly.  I love making cards with flowers.

Some Punch Art

I usually do a better job of taking pictures, loading them to the computer, and posting them so I keep track of what I have posted.  Somehow I am behind in posting and now I can't remember what I posted without looking back.  I am not taking the time to look back so if you have seen these before, sorry.

New Home

A friend of mine needed a card to send to someone who just bought a new home.  I made a few so she would be able to pick one she liked.  I have just recently re-discovered all this paper with houses and trees on it and have been using it a lot.  I am going to run out soon so I better be careful of what I use it on for awhile.

Some Irish Signs

How True

Translation:  Safe Home

We took pictures of a lot of signs and could have taken many more.

We learned a song which we sang many times with our group called Safe Home.  This sign was at the Cliffs of Mohr.

An important sign to learn.

August Birthdays

Happy Birthday to our BIL John and our nephew Zach.  These pictures aren't that great because there was no light and the flash washed out the colors.

Hard Times in Ireland

The Potato Famine

Memorial to people beheaded by Earl Grey
Like a lot of the world's economy, Ireland is going through some tough economic times.  When I think about some of their past trials though , these times don't seem as bad as what my Irish ancestors had to endure.  These are memorials to some of those hard times.   (I am so glad I don't drink Earl Grey tea after hearing about him.)
