Now that's what I call a card!

Most other people wouldn't agree because they know what they are doing (or have taste.) A few weeks ago Sue posted my birthday card for my 60th which had 60 candles on it. Well, this one for her birthday has 59 candles or at least a 59 made out of candles. But I did make that nice border under it. Anyhow, she is still my cute younger chick. I guess I should keep to jewelry.

Non-traditional heart

Valentine's Day is only about three weeks away. Doesn't it seem like it was just Christmas? Some people don't like to buy hearts because they feel like hearts can only be worn in February. Many heart pieces are made with pink or red stones making the dislike even greater. This heart necklace is onyx and black agate making it appropriate for any time of the year.

Sympathy Cards

Once again I had to get sympathy cards out of my box. Jim's aunt passed away this past week. He did not go to the funeral as it was in the north. He thought it was just way to cold right now to go. We did send cards to each of her 4 children.

Happy Birthday

Today is Jim's birthday. This is the card that I made for him. I can't believe that I am married to someone his age. Even worse, I can't believe that next year I will be the same age. I sure don't feel like we are as old as we are. Look at his pictures. He still has hair and it is dark. Not long ago a woman asked me if he was my son! How old is he? Well just count the number of candles on the card.
This card did not photograph well. I think it is because it is so dark today. It looks much better when you click on it to enlarge it. I added a bow because the corner looked empty.

Snowman Soup

This is the last of the Christmas gift pictures. We don't usually exchange gifts with our brothers and sisters unless we are together. Sometimes we find something that is perfect for one particular person and send it, and none of the other siblings care if one person gets a gift and they all don't.
This year I wanted to make some of the snowman soup that I had read about on Splitcoast. I had some Christmas baskets that I bought last year after Christmas. I filled them with a box of hot chocolate packets, marshmallows, and chocolate kisses. I tied two candy canes on the basket and covered them with red cello wrap. I stamped a card with snowmen and printed out the snowman soup poem. I tied the card onto the basket using some Merry Christmas ribbon.

Reindeer Poop

I send money to the nephews for Christmas, but I like to send some little gift too. Last year I sent some of Rudolph's spares. For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about, it is just any kind of red candy. This year I gave them reindeer poop. That's what is in these bags. Poop can be any kind of chocolate candy. Mine is bridge mix. On the back of the tag is a poem about the reindeer leaving poop on the yard and I scraped it up for them. YUCK, but the boys loved it, ages 10 - 19.
