Another "Re-cycled" Piece
This is another piece that Jim made using a re-cycled cabinet door. Ignore the little bit at the bottom right corner that photo bombed the picture. It looks like it is one of our shrubs.

Merry Christmas
This picture does not do justice to this card. The paper behind the Nativity is gold and has a sheen to it. The greeting is embossed with gold powder. The die is from Crafter's Companion. It is the first time I bought one of their dies and this one is beautiful. Merry Christmas to all my family, friends, and blog readers.

Another Deer
A few years ago I took a class with Michele Zindorf. She does amazing work using a brayer. I used a sponge on this card because sponges work better for me. Someone posted a card of Michele's on Pinterest and this is my version of the card. This is the other deer that was on the Tim Holtz die.

Jumping Deer
This deer was cut using a Tim Holtz die. It has two different deer. I will post a card in a few days that uses the other deer. Although this is a very simple card I think it turned out ok. Maybe I will add a little bit of greenery around his neck.

Another Window Card
I have only seen snow in my part of town once the whole time I have lived here, a long time. Because we don't get snow, I don't like to make snow type cards. However, I really like the horse drawn sled. I saw this one on Pinterest and decided to violate my no snow rule.

A Christmas Star
This really isn't a Christmas piece. If you look at the background glass, you will see it is a swirl of green and blue. This piece is another one that uses an old cabinet door for a frame.

Christmas Window
I love these cards made with the window die and brick embossing folder. The idea is that you are outside looking into someone's Christmas tree. I had some paper lace for probably 20 years. I have been trying to use up all this old stuff that I have so that is what I used for a curtain.

Recycled Frame
It has been awhile since I posted some glass. I asked Jim to bring down some of his projects so I could take a few pictures. Not only did he bring some down, he took the pictures too. The frame on this piece is a cabinet door with the center removed.
Try to ignore the background in any of the glass pictures. Remember you are seeing right through it to whatever is in the background.

One Last Pine Branch
While I had her pinecone set, I made several cards. This one will probably be the last one I will post. It is a little blurry at the top because it was open slightly. I really liked the way this one turned out, but I only had one piece of this paper.

December 1 Already
Where does the time go? I can not believe it is December and another year is almost over. Of course it doesn't help that we are having record heat. The high today was 80+ depending on what station I listened too. I didn't buy this set last year and sort of wish that I had. But a good friend and stamping buddy loaned it to me to make a few cards. I may need to borrow it again next year.

Our Last Show Before Christmas
We will be in Oldsmar at Gull Aire for our last show before Christmas. I still have lots of Christmas cards and stocking stuffer type gifts. Jim has plenty of stained glass for all seasons and lots of larger panels. If you are local, come out and see us. It is also small business Saturday so come support local craft vendors.

Happy Thanksgiving
We are planning to have a quiet Thanksgiving this year. We may have our friends over for dinner if they don't go to their daughter's house. We will make a turkey and all the sides even if it is just the two of us. We freeze anything left over and make turkey soup from the bones.

Happy Birthday Dad
My dad would have loved to get this card for either his birthday or Thanksgiving. Do you get it? It is a pumpkin pie. My mom made the best pies, homemade even the crust. Pumpkin was not my favorite and I am not sure if I can remember what my dad's favorite was. He liked all kinds but I think apple may have been his favorite. What was my favorite? Well, I have a few. Coconut cream and cherry cream are at the top of the list. DH makes homemade pies now but he doesn't like cream pies so no more of them for me. He makes a peach/blueberry pie that I like.
How about you what is your favorite pie?

Thanksgiving Pilgrims
It is hard to think about the fact that it is almost Thanksgiving. Where has this year gone? Aren't these pilgrims cute? They are a part of an old, long retired, Stampin Up set called Turkey Talk. I borrow it every few years from a friend of mine. She made some of these cards with me too.

Rest in Peace
I got word today that my mom's cousin died and her memorial is today. For those of you who are into genealogy she was my first cousin, once removed. I am thinking of her family today. I will not be able to attend the service since I live so far away. Two of my brothers will attend to represent all of us.

Busy Weekend
We have two shows this weekend. On Saturday the 14th, we will be at St Timothy's in Lutz. Sunday will be Christmas Under the Oaks in Coachman Park, Clearwater. I think we are going to be very tired after putting up and taking down all the displays and a tent.
I really like the layout of this card which I CASEd from one I saw on Pinterest. It has a very Southwest look to it especially in the colors.

Congrats on Your New Home
Our neighbor's son just got married in the past few months. He and his bride have now bought a house. They are planners and very organized so I am sure apartment living was not for them.

Antique Glass
The title of this post is misleading since this is not really an antique piece at all. So why did I title the post antique glass. Doesn't this piece look like it should be an antique?
I know I have been posting when and where our next show will be. There is not one listed this week because we do not have a show this weekend. We have two coming up next weekend so we are taking a catch up weekend.

Kick up Your Heels
This card could be used for many occasions. I just got a die to cut this boot so I have been making quite a few boot cards while I have the die out. I saw the idea to use burlap and twine for a lasso so I thought I would give it a try.

Frog Collection
MANY years ago Jim started a frog collection. It happened by accident and here is the story as he told me. He had an old VW bug that he painted green using a sweeper. How an electric sweeper turns into a paint sprayer is beyond me, but that is a different story. After it was painted, he put frog decals on it. From then on his family started buying him frogs. We still have some of those frogs, but at least they have stopped buying him more. I will admit though that I have added a few to his frog family. He had to make a stained glass frog.

Another Celtic Knot
There isn't too much I can say about this piece. You have seen several other of the Celtic collection and this is just another member.

The Sleeping Cat
Both of our mom's liked cats and had a collection of cat figurines. His mother's collection was MUCH bigger than my mom's. One of my mom's favorite cats was one that was in a sleeping position similar to this one. That cat was the inspiration for this stained glass piece.

Our Next October Show
We had a lot of fun at our Cedar Key show. We even had enough time before we drove home to do some exploring of the island. Looking forward to returning again next year. This is show season so it is back to work tomorrow. This coming Saturday, October 24, we will be at St Andrew's church. Unlike Cedar Key, this show is very near our home so we will not be traveling very far.

Cedar Key Weekend
I have been waiting for this show ever since last year. It will be our first time at the seafood festival show in Cedar Key and our first visit to Cedar Key. I do hope we have a good show but I really am excited to be going to Cedar Key. It isn't that far from our house so I don't know why we have never gone there. Let's hope for perfect weather. The show will be two days, Oct 17 and 18. Come on out and see us and visit the beach at the same time.

Christmas in July Class
Back in July I did a class which featured all Christmas cards. This is one they made. The space in between the trees is open so you have to position those trees just right to hold the card together. I have seen many of these on Pinterest. If I remember correctly, the first person I saw making them was Deb Valder.

Spear or Arrow Glass Creation
We are both trying to use things we have instead of buying new. He has several of the clear bevel that is on this piece near the bottom. He also has a great imagination and saw it as the end of a spear. So out of those two things came this piece.
Look at the photo bomb from the owl. Do you remember when everyone was doing macramé? That owl is at least 20 years old and is still in great shape. I should get a picture of him someday and post it so you can see what he does.

Simple Santa
I really dislike seeing Christmas decorations out in the stores already. We haven't even had Halloween yet. So I feel kind of like a hypocrite making Christmas cards already. But craft show season is starting for us this Saturday, so I have to make them now. Worse yet, I put them out for sale. I justify this to myself by saying these people will only see me the day of the particular show and they want handmade items. So I make them early and I sell them early. Hopefully I don't look like the W store.

Owl on a Tree
Speaking of owls, here is an owl on a glass piece. This is one of his pieces where he layers the glass. I think he told me this one is three layers. You probably can't tell from the picture that there are layers. He got this idea from my tree embossing folder too. I have no idea where the owl idea came from except we have several that wake us at night. He can't get back to sleep and thinks of his next project ideas then.

Glass Ideas from Cards
Sometimes Jim gets glass ideas from looking at my cards. I have an embossing folder that is tree trunks. I made a card using the folder and a little leaf punch. He used that cards as inspiration for this glass piece.

Cedar Key Blue Crab
Several posts ago, I promised a picture of the blue crab he made to take to Cedar Key. I realized today that I never did post it. I think the whole crab should have been blue but what do I know. It is cute though with those eyes that stick up on the head.

The Octopus for Cedar Key
Are you getting tired of seeing sealife cards yet? This will be the last one for awhile. I have not used this stamp in a long time. It has been retired for many years. In fact, it was retired when I bought it. The animals in this set are a little more whimsical than the other set I have been featuring recently.
I hope the designer paper gives you the impression of waves because that is what I thought of when I saw it.

Cedar Key Seahorse and Fish
This is another card that I made with Cedar Key in mind. I am not concerned if I have a lot of beachy type cards because I know I will use them. Most of them are good for either a male or female.
It is just about 3 weeks until we go to the Cedar Key Seafood Festival. I am getting excited to show our wares at this show.

Cedar Key Lobster
Here is that beach towel looking designer paper. This time I am featuring a lobster on the towel. We have had company this past week so we have had lots of pool and beach time. I hate to see them go but I do need to get back to work.

Cedar Key Crab
The show at Cedar Key is a seafood festival. I don't eat anything that comes out of the water except seaweed which I have only had a few times. Apparently the featured seafood is crab so I had to make a crab card to go along with his stained glass crabs.

Cedar Key
We are doing a show in Cedar Key the weekend of October 17 through October 18. I really wanted to do this show just to visit Cedar Key because in 42 years of living in Florida I haven't been there. So I am making several cards featuring the beach. Remember this designer paper? I used it earlier on the blog and told you it reminded me of a beach towel.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad
Today would have been my parent's anniversary, but I forget how many years. I guess the important thing is they were married over 55 years when my dad died. The background of this card is the Work of Art set that I have been using the past few post along with an older set called Baroque Motiffs. The butterfly is new this year and I love it.

Traditional End of Summer
Labor Day weekend was always the traditional end of summer, back to school weekend when I was young. Now a days school starts before Labor Day. For me, school never starts anymore, retirement is so nice. This is also the Work of Art set used to make popsicles to end the summer.

More Baby Girl
Today Baby Girl, see post a few weeks ago, is getting Baptized. I will be giving her this card, in pink of course.

Another Work of Art
This is another one I CASEd from Pinterest. I may have changed the colors slightly and maybe the stamp set but I can't remember for sure. I would never have bought this set if I hadn't seen all the great cards on Pinterest and Spiltcoast.

A Work of Art
I made so many different cards with the Stampin' Up! set called Work of Art. I can't believe I haven't posted any of them yet. So many cards have been featured on Pinterest using this set and I had to try them all. Here is one I sent to my SIL who paints on wood. Such a great card for her and I knew she would love it.

Another Green Man
You probably can't see the green man. First of all, it isn't green which complicates seeing him. The picture has that white thing from the light on the left side which looks like a little man which complicates things some more. But if you enlarge the picture you should be able to see him in the circle in the center of the piece.

Dancing Starfish for Cedar Key
This is another one of the beach look stained glass he made. Doesn't it look like it is dancing? These are small enough that they could be used on a Christmas tree or in a small window.

Starting My Fall Holiday Planning
I always have to stay a few months ahead of what ever holidays are coming up. This gives me time to try a few ideas that I have found on Pinterest and change them a bit to use supplies I have. So I am starting to think about fall even though it will be hot here for quite a bit longer.

A Celtic Heart
Jim has been in a Celtic mood with a lot of his projects recently. I guess he is dreaming of visiting Ireland.

Baby Girl
On Sunday we finally got to meet the grand daughter of our long time friends. She is 5 months old already. Although the baby name was picked before her birth, only the parents knew her name so we all called her baby girl. So we finally met baby girl Sylvia.

The Green Man
When we were in Scotland, I bought a journal because I loved the cover. It is very heavy metal of some sort with the green man on the front. This stained glass piece was inspired by that journal.

Awash with Flowers
One of the goals I have for this year is working my way through all of my stamps sets. I am making progress but don't think I will get through all of them. This card is made with a set that seems to get neglected. I haven't made anything with it that I really like. This one is also using up some long ago retired SU colors apricot and regal rose.
