Frog Collection
MANY years ago Jim started a frog collection. It happened by accident and here is the story as he told me. He had an old VW bug that he painted green using a sweeper. How an electric sweeper turns into a paint sprayer is beyond me, but that is a different story. After it was painted, he put frog decals on it. From then on his family started buying him frogs. We still have some of those frogs, but at least they have stopped buying him more. I will admit though that I have added a few to his frog family. He had to make a stained glass frog.

Another Celtic Knot
There isn't too much I can say about this piece. You have seen several other of the Celtic collection and this is just another member.

The Sleeping Cat
Both of our mom's liked cats and had a collection of cat figurines. His mother's collection was MUCH bigger than my mom's. One of my mom's favorite cats was one that was in a sleeping position similar to this one. That cat was the inspiration for this stained glass piece.

Our Next October Show
We had a lot of fun at our Cedar Key show. We even had enough time before we drove home to do some exploring of the island. Looking forward to returning again next year. This is show season so it is back to work tomorrow. This coming Saturday, October 24, we will be at St Andrew's church. Unlike Cedar Key, this show is very near our home so we will not be traveling very far.

Cedar Key Weekend
I have been waiting for this show ever since last year. It will be our first time at the seafood festival show in Cedar Key and our first visit to Cedar Key. I do hope we have a good show but I really am excited to be going to Cedar Key. It isn't that far from our house so I don't know why we have never gone there. Let's hope for perfect weather. The show will be two days, Oct 17 and 18. Come on out and see us and visit the beach at the same time.

Christmas in July Class
Back in July I did a class which featured all Christmas cards. This is one they made. The space in between the trees is open so you have to position those trees just right to hold the card together. I have seen many of these on Pinterest. If I remember correctly, the first person I saw making them was Deb Valder.

Spear or Arrow Glass Creation
We are both trying to use things we have instead of buying new. He has several of the clear bevel that is on this piece near the bottom. He also has a great imagination and saw it as the end of a spear. So out of those two things came this piece.
Look at the photo bomb from the owl. Do you remember when everyone was doing macramé? That owl is at least 20 years old and is still in great shape. I should get a picture of him someday and post it so you can see what he does.

Simple Santa
I really dislike seeing Christmas decorations out in the stores already. We haven't even had Halloween yet. So I feel kind of like a hypocrite making Christmas cards already. But craft show season is starting for us this Saturday, so I have to make them now. Worse yet, I put them out for sale. I justify this to myself by saying these people will only see me the day of the particular show and they want handmade items. So I make them early and I sell them early. Hopefully I don't look like the W store.

Owl on a Tree
Speaking of owls, here is an owl on a glass piece. This is one of his pieces where he layers the glass. I think he told me this one is three layers. You probably can't tell from the picture that there are layers. He got this idea from my tree embossing folder too. I have no idea where the owl idea came from except we have several that wake us at night. He can't get back to sleep and thinks of his next project ideas then.

Glass Ideas from Cards
Sometimes Jim gets glass ideas from looking at my cards. I have an embossing folder that is tree trunks. I made a card using the folder and a little leaf punch. He used that cards as inspiration for this glass piece.
