More Love and Sympathy
I usually use this stamp with the flower stamp that is in the set. I saw a card made with some flourishes so I though I would give it a try. Just a few days after I made it, my neighbor came over to ask if I had a sympathy card she could use. There are three of us that seem to constantly need sympathy cards. I hope they bring some peace to those that receive them.

Baby Elephant
A friend of ours, my BFF's daughter, decorated her new baby's room with elephants. Her husband painted a mama elephant and a baby on the wall. Here is a glass elephant that Jim made. When the baby was born I made an elephant card that I sent to them.

Dog and Cat Angels
This past week two of the ladies in my Stampin' Up! group lost a pet. One lady lost a dog and one a cat. Both pets had been in the family for awhile. Jim makes these pet angels to offer a little comfort for those who are missing their fur buddies.

Black Sand Beaches
This little cave was at one of the beaches that we visited. We were with a tour group so we didn't have time to get in the water. Truth is the water was a little chilly for me. The beach here is made up of black sand.

Unique Trees
Doesn't it look like someone painted splotches on these trees? It isn't paint though, but the bark of this particular tree. We saw these trees in Maui while we were driving the Road to Hana.

Aloha!
We just got back from two weeks in Hawaii. That is why I have been seeing a lot of tropical flowers. I will just be posting a few pictures on the blog but for those of you who are FB friends, there will be more on our FB page in a few days. Here is the view we had from our balcony patio one afternoon after a brief shower.

Tropical Flowers
I just recently saw a lot of tropical flowers. I do live in a tropical area so of course I see them nearly everyday. But these were special tropical flowers. I am going to keep you in suspense to find out more about these flowers.

Another Sunflower
See I told you, I love sunflowers. This Stampin' Up! stamp is called a background stamp because it is so big. It is so big that I can't fit the whole thing on the size paper I use for my cards. The paper and ribbon on this card are crushed curry. The ribbon is retired but I still have a lot of it to use. That's ok because I don't mind using retired products.

Some New Butterflys
Along with flowers, another of my favorite things to use on cards are butterflies. These two are on a new Spellbinders die that I bought. The papers are all from Stampin' Up! as is the embossing folder that I used to make the lacy trim.

Happy Birthday Ken
This card was made from parts of last year's Sale A Bration kit that I am just getting around to using now. I added the cupcake and scalloped circle behind it. Today is my brother's birthday and it is one of those zero birthday. We are getting so old.

Love and Sympathy
I never know when I send a sympathy card what colors to use. I don't want to make them all black and dark colors but I don't want them to bright and cheerful either. The yellow in this card isn't real bright and I think the touch of blue brightens it just a bit. I never seem to have enough sympathy cards no matter how many I make.

Sunflower or Daisy?
I love sunflowers and daisies. This flower was made using a die that is labeled daisy. By changing the flower to yellow and center to brown, it sure looks like a sunflower. I know this is a very fall looking card but since I liked it so much I had to post it. Look close and you will see a large sunflower stamped on the red paper.

See Ya Later Alligator...
After while crocodile. Isn't that how the expression goes? I wasn't sure about this set when I first saw it but since it was a free Sale A Bration set I wasn't going to turn it down. But I have made a few cards with it and I am starting to like it. I have seen quite a few of this type card on pinterest and they have been made primarily in greens and yellows. Those are good gator colors that is unless you are a Florida gator, as in UF.

Lion Punch Art
One of the schools that I taught at was King High School. The mascot was the lion, like the king of the jungle. I wasn't doing punch art back then but this would have made a great card to give to my teacher friends there. I am not interested in going back though just to make a lion card. I like what I am doing now, not that I didn't like teaching, but it was time to move on to the next phase of my life.

Mr. Pelican
When Jim's aunt was alive she and her husband spent a big part of the winter at a beach near us. We would go down to visit them and usually they would take us out to dinner. They asked if we had ever seen white pelicans. Now we have lived here a long time but had to answer no. So that decided where we would go to eat. A group of white pelicans hung out behind the place they took us for lunch. Too bad the restaurant is now closed. Not sure if the pelicans are still there or not as we haven't been down that way in awhile.

My Bike
I had been riding my bike everyday for awhile. You know how it goes though, I missed a couple of days and then it became harder and harder to get out riding again. So the bike has been neglected. This stamp has a similar story. It was one of the first ones I ordered when the catalog came out that it was in. It stayed on the shelf a long time before it got used. This is the first card I made with it. Better late than never.

Squirrel
We have so many squirrels in our yard. We used to have a bird feeder but got tired of the squirrels stealing all of the bird food. One lady requested Jim make this little guy for her father because he was always trying to keep them out of his birdfeeders too.

S'More Birthday
We all have some more birthdays ahead of us, we hope. I remember liking s'mores when I was young. I was a girl scout and they were a popular food to make while sitting around the camp fire. I don't sit around many camp fires anymore and making them on the grill just isn't quite the same. Today just happens to be my brother's birthday and two of our nieces.

Yellow Glass Design
Jim made two of these pieces one in yellow and one in blue. I posted a picture of the blue one a few days ago. I like the blue one the best. Which one do you prefer?
