I remember there used to be a saying that simply was Always Twenty-One. I wonder why people used to say that. This card has lots of shiny gold on it that you can't really see. The 21 is made out of gold glitter paper and really sparkles.

Hummingbirds
People always look for certain things on cards. One thing I am asked for is hummingbirds. Here are some cards with hummingbirds on them. I think this is the first time I have posted a card using the lattice die. I need to use it more often.

Frankie and the Mummy
I have started working on Halloween cards to take to the shop. This is not the card I am sending to my family but one of these characters is on the card they will receive. This was such a great set because of it had 5 different characters so I was able to use the set multiple years on my family cards. This will be the last year I will use it. I already bought two new sets that I will use the next few years.

Flowers on a Vine
These flowers were made using the wing of the bird punch. I use that wing for a lot of different things. I love my punches. The vine I hand cut and the leaves are from the same punch. Can you think of other things I have made with the bird wing?

See Ya Later
I thought this would be a different kind of card to give someone who was leaving the office or going on a trip. I found the idea on splitcoast and liked the way she punched the chevrons into the designer paper so the green showed through. I took this picture when it was in the plastic sleeve so I am not sure if you can see the gators across the top. Speaking of gators, GO GATORS. Man they aren't even ranked this year. What college team do you support. I like the gators and Seminoles but my favorite Florida team is USF bulls.

Ribbon Heart
This would have been a much better picture to use for my parents anniversary. Oh well, too late now as it is already published. The heart and ribbon are bevels but the border is not. I like this new glass he has been using for borders. It isn't really a new thing just new for him. By the way, I know the heart and ribbon look like they are green but they are clear. The green is the grass showing through the bevel.

Happy Birthday May
Today would have been my mother in law's birthday. September used to be a big month for me and sending cards. Not so much anymore. My MIL saved every card that
I made for her. If you make cards, does anyone save your cards? My brother does, pretty good for a guy.

Happy Anniversary
So you may wonder why a ballerina when the title says anniversary. I needed a post for today and wanted it to be glass since I neglect Jim's work. Then I remembered it would have been my mom and dad's anniversary. I had already picked the ballerina picture out and didn't want to change it. How can I work my parents into a dancer? Then I remembered that when my mom was young she took dance lessons. Yeah I know I am stretching it a bit. I hope my mom and dad are dancing today in heaven. Maybe heaven has helped my dad with his dancing.

September Birthdays
Happy Birthday to all the September birthday people. The birthstone for September is sapphire. Not that I was thinking of the birthstone when I made this card but it does have a lot of sapphire blue on it. What I was really thinking was it would make a good guy card. Do you know the birthstone for your birth month?

Rocky Raccoon
Didn't the Beatles make a song about Rocky Raccoon? I can't remember too many of the words though to work it into my blog post. I can tell you that our neighborhood has many raccoons and I am afraid of them. They can be full of rabies yet there is one neighbor that feeds them! We used to trap them and take them away to the woods but now we don't have a truck. We put one in the car once and I was terrified. I was afraid it would get out of the cage or pee in the car. Thankfully we got it to the woods without any incident.

Vintage Santa
I had seen this Santa image on pinterest
but didn't know where to buy him. We
don't have HL near us but I stopped in one
while out of town. That is where I found
the Santa. I love vintage so it is just my style.

Football Season
The NFL pre-season games have started and high school and college football isn't far behind. What was your college mascot? Mine was the penguin, Pete and Penny. I have a bobble head of both of them. These are glass penguins that Jim made.

Christmas in August
This is one of the cards I am making with my card group that is meeting today. We try to do a few Christmas cards throughout the summer so that we don't have as many to make in November. I CASEd this card from Mindy Backes, Minders on splitcoaststampers.

Coffee and Teaching
The teachers in our county go back to school today. When I started teaching, everyone was surprised that I didn't drink coffee. They all said, we give you a week of teaching and you will drink it. On the day I retired from teaching, I still was not a coffee drinker and remain that way. I just could not get used to the taste of it.

Band BBQ
I have had two weeks off from community band practice for my Thursday night band. We return to practice today but only for a short time. We are going to have a welcome back BBQ. I sure hope it is good BBQ with some slaw and tea to drink.

Raining on Sunflowers
I saw this card on pinterest and knew I had to make one like it. I love sunflowers and daisies. This was made using the mosaic punch. I love the way she put crystal effects in a few places to look like rain drops. Notice that I copied that idea.
