Bright Butterflies
Although this card has a Mother's Day greeting on it, the greeting could easily be changed to fit many occasions. I saw a card similar to this one on splitcoast and since I love making butterfly cards decided I need to make one like it. I think maybe I should have added some ribbon across the top of the lace border. Maybe next time.

MGM in Las Vegas
We just got back from a short trip to Las Vegas where we got married 36 years ago. Wow has it changed in those years. We stayed at the MGM where there is a lion statue in the lobby and outside in front of the hotel as well. Here is my punch art lion gift tag which was inspired by Jackie Topa, the lioness of punch art. http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/

Proud Peacock
I wish I would have had this stamp set when one of our nieces got married. The theme of her wedding was peacocks. You may remember seeing the peacock wedding invitation frame that Jim made.

Wedding Invitation
As part of wedding gifts that we give, Jim tries to frame the invitation in some way. This is what we came up with for our most recent family wedding. If you look at the second picture you will see where we got the inspiration for the card and frame.

Feel Better
Jim recently had a sore throat which turned into a cold. So that reminded me I had this vintage looking get well card that I need to post. I used four different stamps sets to make this card. I hope I don't get sick too.

RIP
I recently found out that one of my childhood friends has passed. I knew him since second grade. We went to the same elementary, high school, and college. He and his wife were stationed at the local Air Force base and I visited. That is how I got my teaching job. He and his family had moved back to our hometown area so I hadn't seen him in awhile and had no idea he had cancer. I had hoped that by this time in my life there was going to be a cure for all cancers but now I don't think I am going to see this happen in my lifetime.

More Babys
One of our nieces had a baby girl back in September. We sent a card but just saw her this past weekend and took a gift. Of course the package had to have another card. I saw something similar to this one on splitcoast and since I hadn't used this set yet I thought it was time. This would be cute for a child's birthday card too. We have at least two more babies on the way.

SPRING??
The calendar says it is spring, but where is the spring weather. We had a very nice winter so I shouldn't complain but this is the coolest March that I can remember.

Wedding Congrats
Our nephew is getting married. Do you think he will get it if I send this card? Do you get that it is the bride and groom pulling out in their car? I saw this idea in Papercrafters magazine and changed it a little to match the punches that I have. The just married sign is computer generated. I probably will use a more blinged up card than this one.

Spring is Near
Here are three more cards that I made using my One Sheet Wonder template. I have a picture of the template on the Sept 1, 2012 post if you would like to see it.

Wedding Keepsake Box
This is the third wedding box that Jim made. The glass top of the box was inspired by my card that is shown below the box. He has two others that I posted on February 6. He made these to enter a contest sponsered by the glass company. I'll let you know how that turns out. These keepsake boxes can be used for jewelry, to store wedding momentos, or whatever. They are lined with suede cloth to protect whatever is inside.

Happy Birthday Patty
Today would have been our sister Patty's birthday. Yes, she was a pi day birthday girl. We miss her very much. Please be aware that woman do not always have the chest pain that men do when having heart problems.
These are a few more of the one sheet wonder cards.

Happy Birthday Dad
Today would have been Jim's father's birthday. He has been gone a long time now. We do think of him often but especially on holidays and family times. These cards are a part of my one sheet wonder cards that I will be featuring in a few of my next posts.

Some Sympathy Cards
I never seem to have enough sympathy cards. I make cards for one of my community bands. Our director recently lost his father and younger sister. Now one of our band members has passed. I really like both of these cards but wish I didn't have to make them.

Lacy Butterflies
I wish I would have ordered more of these card bases when they were on the clearance rack. They are sold out now. The kit had everything I needed to make this card except the ribbon and stamp which I added. Even the envelope is pink.

Happy Valentine's Day
How are you spending Valentine's Day? I will be doing what I do just about every Thursday night, going to my community band practice.

LOVE
This is another card that I saw in Papercrafts magazine. It used different paper and a different alphabet set but the colors and idea were the same. The V in love is made from a SU ribbon that retired awhile ago.

Tic Tac Toe
I saw an idea like this in Papercrafts magazine. So I thought it was another good card to make using my Stampin' Up! conversation hearts stamp and matching punch.

Wedding Treasure Boxes
These are wooden boxes that come with a frame for a top. Jim used my wedding greeting cards as a model to design a stained glass insert for them. There is one more box that I will be posting at a later date. My card is at the bottom of the picture with the box he made at the top. The bride and groom card was inspired by Lynn Pratt.
