Another "Re-cycled" Piece

This is another piece that Jim made using a re-cycled cabinet door.  Ignore the little bit at the bottom right corner that photo bombed the picture.  It looks like it is one of our shrubs.

Merry Christmas

This picture does not do justice to this card.  The paper behind the Nativity is gold and has a sheen to it.  The greeting is embossed with gold powder.  The die is from Crafter's Companion.  It is the first time I bought one of their dies and this one is beautiful.  Merry Christmas to all my family, friends, and blog readers.

Another Deer

A few years ago I took a class with Michele Zindorf.  She does amazing work using a brayer.  I used a sponge on this card because sponges work better for me.  Someone posted a card of Michele's on Pinterest and this is my version of the card.  This is the other deer that was on the Tim Holtz die.

Jumping Deer

This deer was cut using a Tim Holtz die.  It has two different deer.  I will post a card in a few days that uses the other deer.  Although this is a very simple card I think it turned out ok.  Maybe I will add a little bit of greenery around his neck.

Another Window Card

I have only seen snow in my part of town once the whole time I have lived here, a long time.  Because we don't get snow, I don't like to make snow type cards.  However, I really like the horse drawn sled.  I saw this one on Pinterest and decided to violate my no snow rule.

A Christmas Star

This really isn't a Christmas piece.  If you look at the background glass, you will see it is a swirl of green and blue.  This piece is another one that uses an old cabinet door for a frame.

Christmas Window

I love these cards made with the window die and brick embossing folder.  The idea is that you are outside looking into someone's Christmas tree.  I had some paper lace for probably 20 years.   I have been trying to use up all this old stuff that I have so that is what I used for a curtain.

Recycled Frame

It has been awhile since I posted some glass.  I asked Jim to bring down some of his projects so I could take a few pictures.  Not only did he bring some down, he took the pictures too.  The frame on this piece is a cabinet door with the center removed.

Try to ignore the background in any of the glass pictures.  Remember you are seeing right through it to whatever is in the background.

One Last Pine Branch

While I had her pinecone set, I made several cards.  This one will probably be the last one I will post.  It is a little blurry at the top because it was open slightly.  I really liked the way this one turned out, but I only had one piece of this paper.

December 1 Already

Where does the time go?  I can not believe it is December and another year is almost over.  Of course it doesn't help that we are having record heat.  The high today was 80+ depending on what station I listened too.  I didn't buy this set last year and sort of wish that I had.  But a good friend and stamping buddy loaned it to me to make a few cards.  I may need to borrow it again next year.

Our Last Show Before Christmas

We will be in Oldsmar at Gull Aire for our last show before Christmas.  I still have lots of Christmas cards and stocking stuffer type gifts.  Jim has plenty of stained glass for all seasons and lots of larger panels.  If you are local, come out and see us.  It is also small business Saturday so come support local craft vendors.

Happy Thanksgiving

We are planning to have a quiet Thanksgiving this year.  We may have our friends over for dinner if they don't go to their daughter's house.  We will make a turkey and all the sides even if it is just the two of us.  We freeze anything left over and make turkey soup from the bones.

Happy Birthday Dad

My dad would have loved to get this card for either his birthday or Thanksgiving.  Do you get it?  It is a pumpkin pie.  My mom made the best pies, homemade even the crust.  Pumpkin was not  my favorite and I am not sure if I can remember what my dad's favorite was.  He liked all kinds but I think apple may have been his favorite.  What was my favorite?  Well, I have a few.  Coconut cream and cherry cream are at the top of the list.  DH makes homemade pies now but he doesn't like cream pies so no more of them for me.  He makes a peach/blueberry pie that I like.

How about you what is your favorite pie?

Thanksgiving Pilgrims

It is hard to think about the fact that it is almost Thanksgiving.  Where has this year gone?  Aren't these pilgrims cute?  They are a part of an old, long retired, Stampin Up set called Turkey Talk.  I borrow it every few years from a friend of mine.  She made some of these cards with me too.

Rest in Peace

I got word today that my mom's cousin died and her memorial is today.  For those of you who are into genealogy she was my first cousin, once removed.  I am thinking of her family today.  I will not be able to attend the service since I live so far away. Two of my brothers will attend to represent all of us.

Busy Weekend

We have two shows this weekend.  On Saturday the 14th, we will be at St Timothy's in Lutz.  Sunday will be Christmas Under the Oaks in Coachman Park, Clearwater.  I think we are going to be very tired after putting up and taking down all the displays and a tent.

I really like the layout of this card which I CASEd from one I saw on Pinterest.  It has a very Southwest look to it especially in the colors.

Congrats on Your New Home

Our neighbor's son just got married in the past few months.  He and his bride have now bought a house.  They are planners and very organized so I am sure apartment living was not for them.

Antique Glass

The title of this post is misleading since this is not really an antique piece at all.  So why did I title the post antique glass.  Doesn't this piece look like it should be an antique?

I know I have been posting when and where our next show will be.  There is not one listed this week because we do not have a show this weekend.  We have two coming up next weekend so we are taking a catch up weekend.

Kick up Your Heels

This card could be used for many occasions.  I just got a die to cut this boot so I have been making quite a few boot cards while I have the die out.  I saw the idea to use burlap and twine for a lasso so I thought I would give it a try.

Frog Collection

MANY years ago Jim started a frog collection.  It happened by accident and here is the story as he told me.  He had an old VW bug that he painted green using a sweeper.  How an electric sweeper turns into a paint sprayer is beyond me, but that is a different story.  After it was painted, he put frog decals on it.  From then on his family started buying him frogs.  We still have some of those frogs, but at least they have stopped buying him more.  I will admit though that I have added a few to his frog family.  He had to make a stained glass frog.
