Leaves, Butterflies, and the Sun

I hope I haven't posted this card before but I don't think I have.  I  love this sun and recently made a few more cards with it.  This set along with the punched butterflies can be used for so many different occasions.

Some More Gold Fish

This card has the same blue for water and orange for the goldfish,  But it also has what is called Sahara Sand.  I think that color is close enough to represent the beach.  I think this card along with the one I posted earlier this week are the only two cards I made with this stamp.  Looking at it, I didn't even put a greeting on it.  What's up with that?

Birthday for Children

I really need to do a better job of making birthday cards for children.  I guess because I don't need that many cards for young children I don't buy many stamps for that type of card.  I did like these goldfish but haven't used the set very much.  I saw a card like this somewhere and like the idea of blue for water and gold for fish.  I have one more out of this set to post later this week.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have had this elephant valentine stamp for a long time.  I just can't seem to be able to sell him.  I think he is so cute.  I like to stamp it on designer paper so that I don't have to do any coloring.  I didn't mind coloring the tiny hearts that are suppose to be flowers but I don't have a good marker for the elephant.  I punched a heart out of some red glimmer paper and have it balanced on the trunk of the elephant.

Vintage Valentine

I really didn't make very many valentine cards this year.  I did make them for my family and a couple of new samples for my card group to make.  I made this one last year and I don't think I posted it on the blog.  It opens in the front instead of on the side as usual.  I like the lacy vintage look of the card.  I have a rather large stack of valentines that were my mom's that I love to look at.  Not only do they remind me of her, but they are true vintage.

The Dulcimer

One time when we were in Branson, we bought a dulcimer.  Jim is learning to play it and has made a glass piece with a dulcimer on it.  He will be donating this piece to a group in Mount Dora to help with one of their scholarship programs.

Kumquat Festival

Our first show of 2016 is what I consider our last show.  We only do shows from late September to December and then the Kumquat Festival the last Saturday of January.  So to me this is our last show for awhile.  We love Dade City and all the fun home town feel that the city has.  We love coming up here for some of the Christmas activities they have and also to look around the shops.  This show is a great way to finish our show season.  Come see us this Saturday.  We are on the main street just beyond the library.

Birthday Feathers

On this card, I used the same mix of colors in the sentiment as I used in the feathers.  I was able to do this by using markers instead of stamp pads.  My birthday is coming up very soon.  I sure wish I could turn the clock back a few years.

More Feathers

If you follow my blog, you know that I seem to post a few of the same set once I start a set.  So it should be no surprise that I am posting more feathers.  I like the feathers with turquoise backgrounds because to me it is very southwest looking.

The Feather Stamp

I didn't buy this stamp set, even though I did think about it for a bit.  However, one of my stampin' buddies did buy it and loaned it to me.  That is something that is nice about being on a team, there is always someone that has whatever one is looking for.   I got the idea for this card on Pinterest.  I thought the colors went well together.

Happy Birthday

In one of my other posts, October 2015, I talked about Jim's frog collection and the green VW.  Although I used this card for something else, I thought it was a good one to post for his birthday post.

We celebrated last night with our friends.  Three of the four of us have January birthdays so dinner and a movie have become the traditional way to celebrate.

It's Another Girl

While we were visiting with our family during Christmas, our niece found out that the baby she is expecting in May will be a girl.

YODA

With all the Star Wars excitement, how did  I forget to publish this card?  I found the original on Pinterest and the original design can be found here,  http://www.cardsandacuppa.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/yoda-punch-art-wish-we-do-for-zack.html

I will admit to not remembering much about the Star Wars movies I saw and I don't think I saw them all.  But it is a fun card.

Happy New Year

Yeah I know, these are Christmas cards.  But in many parts of the country it is cold and snowy so I thought I would post them anyway.  When my brother was still teaching I would send him a snow card every year wishing him many snow days.  This would have been the perfect die to use for that type of card.  This die is another crafter's companion die.

Another "Re-cycled" Piece

This is another piece that Jim made using a re-cycled cabinet door.  Ignore the little bit at the bottom right corner that photo bombed the picture.  It looks like it is one of our shrubs.

Merry Christmas

This picture does not do justice to this card.  The paper behind the Nativity is gold and has a sheen to it.  The greeting is embossed with gold powder.  The die is from Crafter's Companion.  It is the first time I bought one of their dies and this one is beautiful.  Merry Christmas to all my family, friends, and blog readers.

Another Deer

A few years ago I took a class with Michele Zindorf.  She does amazing work using a brayer.  I used a sponge on this card because sponges work better for me.  Someone posted a card of Michele's on Pinterest and this is my version of the card.  This is the other deer that was on the Tim Holtz die.

Jumping Deer

This deer was cut using a Tim Holtz die.  It has two different deer.  I will post a card in a few days that uses the other deer.  Although this is a very simple card I think it turned out ok.  Maybe I will add a little bit of greenery around his neck.

Another Window Card

I have only seen snow in my part of town once the whole time I have lived here, a long time.  Because we don't get snow, I don't like to make snow type cards.  However, I really like the horse drawn sled.  I saw this one on Pinterest and decided to violate my no snow rule.

A Christmas Star

This really isn't a Christmas piece.  If you look at the background glass, you will see it is a swirl of green and blue.  This piece is another one that uses an old cabinet door for a frame.
