Flute Angel

When our friend Lynne retired Jim made this angel for her.  Lynne plays flute in one of the community bands that I perform with in Tampa.  He didn't take a picture of it back then because he had no intention of making another one.  He still doesn't, but when we were at her house recently, he took a picture of it.  She has it hanging on a side panel beside her front door.  That is why you see light behind it in the picture.

Florida State Fair

We belong to a craft guild.  One of the projects we do each year is participate in the state fair.  In the arts and crafts building, they have tables set up for crafters and artist to demo their craft.  This is a picture of Jim working on some stained glass.  He also entered the craft competition and won two first place ribbons.

Botanical Gardens

I love making cards with flowers on them.  I have so many designer papers, stamps, and dies that are flowers but I had to have this set anyway.  The Stampin' Up retirement list comes out tomorrow and I sure hope the stamp and die are carried over.  I know the paper will not because it is rare for designer paper to carry over to a new catalog.  I made this one for a sketch challenge.

We Are So Goofy

 

 

You know how I told you that our grand niece was going to be at Disney for a band trip?  We decided to go over and hear them play.  She did not know we were coming so it was fun.  Why are we goofy?  We have been to Disney so many times that we could be tour guides.  It has changed since we were there .  It was a fun trip and we had almost perfect weather for the  trip. The band had a good time.

EPCOT Today

Today our grand niece with her mom and fellow middle school band members are visiting in EPCOT.  It has been a beautiful weekend for them so I hope they have had a great time.

Disney Band Trip

One of the grand nieces plays clarinet in her middle school band.  They are coming to Disney this weekend for some kind of concert and maybe a competition.  They will also have some time in the parks.  Her mom is coming too as a chaperone.  I know they are both excited.

Friends and Wine

I am really not a big wine drinker or drinker of any kind of alcohol.  However, I do love Sangria.  We have a great recipe for it.  Do you have a favorite kind of wine?

Happy Easter

I made this punch art duck for family Easter cards about two years ago.  I didn't post it at that time because I had a few others I wanted to post that year.  So since I think he is so cute, I decided to use him for my blog Easter card this year.  Those ducks on the designer paper were perfect for this card.  I do remember that I didn't have enough of it but the package also had some with bird eggs all over it and used that too.

An Empty Wne Bottle

No I didn't empty the bottle.  I just cut it and the glasses out for a different look than the one I posted a few days ago.

What kind of wine is your favorite?  I am not a big drinker at all so I drink what I call sissy drinks.  My favorite wine is Sangria with lots of citrus fruit flavors.

Wine if you Want

When I borrowed the car stamp, I also borrowed this wine set.  It has a lot of really cute greetings in it.  I made a few different cards that I will posted during the next week.  Today is my baby brother's birthday.  He doesn't live near me but guess what.  He is on vacation this week and will be spending the week with me.  So this year I get to say HB in person.

Classic Car

I still have many more car cards, but I am tired of thinking of car things to say.  When I was younger and went to car shows this was the type car that was consider to be a classic.  Now when I go to shows  I see cars that my parents, other family members and even I had.  Makes me feel so old.

The Love Bug

I tried to make this VW look like it was tie died.  I think it needs a bit more yellow on it.  It brings back memories of my college days.

Happy Birthday

I borrowed this stamp from a friend so that I would have a variety of cars at the Kumquat Festival.  I would buy this set if I liked the rest of what is in it.  Some of the set is cute but most of it is just not me so I will pass and just borrow it when I want to make more.

Speaking of more, I have quite a few more cards with cars on them to post.

And finally, today would have been Jim's father's birthday.  The VW is appropriate for today since Jim owned one when he was in college.

Car Show Cards

Last year at the Kumquat Festival, one of my customers suggested I make some cards with cars on them.  She told me there is a car show going on at the same time as the festival  She said she would come by this year to see if I took her advice.  I did but she didn't come looking.  It doesn't matter though because I sold them to other people.

Leaves, Butterflies, and the Sun

I hope I haven't posted this card before but I don't think I have.  I  love this sun and recently made a few more cards with it.  This set along with the punched butterflies can be used for so many different occasions.

Some More Gold Fish

This card has the same blue for water and orange for the goldfish,  But it also has what is called Sahara Sand.  I think that color is close enough to represent the beach.  I think this card along with the one I posted earlier this week are the only two cards I made with this stamp.  Looking at it, I didn't even put a greeting on it.  What's up with that?

Birthday for Children

I really need to do a better job of making birthday cards for children.  I guess because I don't need that many cards for young children I don't buy many stamps for that type of card.  I did like these goldfish but haven't used the set very much.  I saw a card like this somewhere and like the idea of blue for water and gold for fish.  I have one more out of this set to post later this week.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have had this elephant valentine stamp for a long time.  I just can't seem to be able to sell him.  I think he is so cute.  I like to stamp it on designer paper so that I don't have to do any coloring.  I didn't mind coloring the tiny hearts that are suppose to be flowers but I don't have a good marker for the elephant.  I punched a heart out of some red glimmer paper and have it balanced on the trunk of the elephant.

Vintage Valentine

I really didn't make very many valentine cards this year.  I did make them for my family and a couple of new samples for my card group to make.  I made this one last year and I don't think I posted it on the blog.  It opens in the front instead of on the side as usual.  I like the lacy vintage look of the card.  I have a rather large stack of valentines that were my mom's that I love to look at.  Not only do they remind me of her, but they are true vintage.

The Dulcimer

 

One time when we were in Branson, we bought a dulcimer.  Jim is learning to play it and has made a glass piece with a dulcimer on it.  He will be donating this piece to a group in Mount Dora to help with one of their scholarship programs.
